Tracy Tyler’s only visit to the hospital was for knee surgery as a teenager.
Fast forward to Tracy as a 54 year-old healthy guy, a little overweight, who suddenly had a problem.
One football afternoon in 2017 Tracy and his wife Nancy began a marathon college-football binge. During a timeout Tracy took a bathroom break and found he couldn’t urinate. Being a tough guy, he tried to ignore the problem for the next 6 hours. Finally at 11 p.m. Amy took this 6 ft. 2 in. network marketer to the emergency room.
After tests, the Tylers found out Tracy had a softball-size tumor on his kidney, later diagnosed as cancerous.
His right kidney was removed on Dec. 4 and he left the hospital the next day.
Tracy didn’t have to pay anything up front for his surgery, but his bills came to an astonishing $87,000.
(FLASHBACK: About a year before Tracy’s medical crisis the Tylers had dropped their ACA [Obamacare] plan. They had been paying $1,100 a month for their family of three with a $5,000 deductible. Their new policy with Philadelphia Life was less than half of what they had been paying for the ACA plan.)
After Philadelphia Life paid Tracy’s claim, and their advocacy group negotiated with the providers, the Tylers were left with a $8,300 bill—out of the original $87,000.
Shortly afterward, Philadelphia Life sent Tracy a Critical Illness check for $10,000. Tracy paid the $8,300 now due and was able to bank the remaining $1,700.
As a result of this great experience, the Tylers increased medical coverage on Amy and their daughter Jordyn. And Amy decided to become an insurance broker herself and now helps others save thousands in premiums and have the exceptional benefits the Tylers received.
